Grays Co-operative Society.

The original shop of Grays Co-operative Society was the Dutch House in the Old High Street in 1867. Shown above was their third shop in East Thurrock Road which opened in 1903 and had at that time a membership of approximately 4000. (I still remember my mum's  "dividend" number from the 1950's - 543380 !).
