Grays and Tilbury Gas Company.

            Early in the Twentieth Century gas and electricity was supplied by local companies which have by now all been taken over by major concerns, the Grays and Tilbury Gas Co. was situated in Orsett. Road. The building is still standing and is now a Fiat car showroom.

            The aerial photograph is of London Road, Grays, it is perhaps a little unfortunate that the picture is not taken closer, showing a little more detail of the surrounding area. The third photograph is of Grays and Tilbury Gas Co. employees, probably gas meter readers and collectors.
