This photograph was taken C.1920 and shows Ambrose and Leon Knowles with Tom Tampkins with whom they amalgamated, Knowles closed down in December 1977.

"I have been down memory lane with a friend of mine who also worked at knowles. We remember some of the names of some soft drinks like Danelion and Burdock, (maybe this was the one Dr Pepper reminds you of) Sarspaella, Cream Soda,  Coke, Limeade, Lemonade, and i'm sure there were more. We also used to bottle vinegar,it used to come in a large barrel and it was concentrated, we used to add water (sorry can't remember the amounts) then bottle.Whenever i use vinegar it reminds of Knowles."- letter from Jean Game.
